We were on our flight to Rabat, Morocco, and he was playing while I just wanted to pass time while sketching. And so I drew the King of Chess. Two interpretations: the chess piece is the King, but Casper is also the King of Chess since he plays so much :)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAfter completing the drawing, I noticed I wanted to draw something inspired by my surroundings every day of my trip. We had just walked all over the city to see the mosques and the Royal Palace. We had lunch at a local café, which included Moroccan tea. A bitter, minty flavor, but sweet at the same time. My boyfriend Casper hated it, but I loved it. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd the tea kettles are everywhere! They are sold in local shops, in markets, and used at every restaurant. They were gorgeous! When we walked from the busstop to our Riad on the first day, I had already seen some lanterns outside. I had pointed them out to my boyfriend saying they looked beautiful. So, it was a no brainer for me. After 2 days in Rabat, we traveled to this beautiful city to visit a good friend of mine. We had a day full of fun and had just walked her back to her apartment. When me and my boyfriend were headed back to our apartment, I was still looking for something to draw for this day of the series. Without any expectation, I turned my head to my right to check for oncoming traffic. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere it was, peaking out over the buildings on the street, in between two apartment buildings. We did too! On our first day in Rabat we were asked whether we needed a taxi 7 times in 30 minutes. In Casablanca and Marrakech it was not different. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy friend in Casablanca told us that in each city in Morocco the taxi's have a different color. Rabat: blue, Casablanca: red, Marrakech: yellow. It's so fun! These taxi's were a big part of our day, we saw them everywhere! They are absolutely beautiful! I saw them in red everywhere, but the pink ones were more rare. On our way we stopped a couple of times to visit old towns, see beautiful views, or simply have some food. While enjoying our time on one of the stops, we saw a camel carved from stone sitting on a tree stump. It was the cutest thing ever!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI knew immediately that this was going to be the drawing of day 7! We were traveling back to Marrakech after 2 days of exploring the Moroccan desert. The store was filled with stone souvenirs: grumpy stones, happy stones, stone animals, bowls, plates, stone jewelry... \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor some reason this one captured my attention. I loved how small it was: it could fit in the palm of my hand. And the contrast between the stone color and the white lines on it was perfect. He told us all about the techniques and materials that were used in the process of making it by hand. After selecting our favorite carpet and negotiating the price in a traditional way, we paid for the art piece and drank Moroccan tea together. When we left, the vendor got us 4 of these Khamsas as a blessing and protection against evil eye. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI felt so welcome and appreciated! What was left was a 5 minute walk to the departure terminals. During that walk we saw so many Moroccan flags, it was insane! We already had seen a lot of Moroccan flags in the cities, but this was even more. I wanted to take a picture of one so I could draw it. But the wind wasn't on my side... The flag just hang there...  But a bit further on the walk to the airport it was more windy and there were three flags blowing in the wind beautifully.
